This repeater is located at (K7OI) Terry Permenter's residence where the antenna is on a tree 105 feet high which puts it about 385 feet above sea level. Since 1980 the repeater has been in many locations and I will try to remember all those locations without going through the stack of news letters that were published until the cost got too high.
The first time the repeater was put on the air the transmitter consisted of an Icom- 230 and a Motorola dispatch receiver equipped with a home brew carrier operated control circuit to turn on the transmitter. There weren't any cavities so the receiver antenna was located about 100 feet from my house on the roof of my old car garage. The transmitter antenna was located on top of my home. We got by with out cavities by running low power ( 5-10 ) watts. This was at my place at Mutiny Bay, on South Whidbey Island.
A set of cavities were purchased and I built a home brew controller and we installed the repeater on top of the Coupeville court house. I don't know how long it was there but it was relocated to the Whidbey Telephone Co. microwave antenna location where it was in service for quite a few years, then from there is was moved to the South Whidbey Clinic, then to Maxwellton Beach and from there to it's present location at Terry Permenter's QTH.
When at the microwave tower a Micro Security controller was purchased. A Regency mobile tranceiver was purchased from Galen Haven ( W7HHU) and was modified and used for the transmitter. After being moved to its present location a self contained repeater, which has contained in its cabinet everything but the duplexer, was purchased from Micro Control Specialties. Below are some of the repeater features.
