PREPARATIONS FOR THE CASCADIA RISING CATASTROPHIC EARTHQUAKE EXERCISE
 Island County Amateur Radio Club will present a public briefing about a June multi-state disaster preparedness exercise at its monthly meeting at 9 a.m., April 30, in the Wifire conference room, 1651 East Main Street, Freeland.

Exercise representative Michael Chaplin will discuss the four-day Cascadia Rising 2016 exercise involving government and private organizations throughout the Pacific northwest.

Michael Chaplin's background includes: Professor and Department Head Emeritus, Iowa State University; Training Officer - Washington State Races, Training Officer - Western Washington Section ARES, ASRO - Washington State Races, and ASEC - Western Washington Section ARES.

Mike was first licensed as a novice in 1972.  His main amateur radio interests are in Emergency Communications, DX, and Contesting; He is a Past RO and EC, Benton County, Ore; Member of the Whatcom Emergency Communications Group; Past Training Officer WECG;   Member - ARRL continuously since 1973; Life member – QCWA; Member of the PNWCBCG since inception; Board member of the WWARA; Operating awards: DXCC, WAS, WPX, WAZ; Commissioned as Communications Officer, Ferndale Police Department – 2008. Past faculty advisor Oregon State ARC, Penn State ARC, Iowa State ARC.



Dues for 2016 were due in January and are now considered delinquent as of 31 March 2016


All delinquent members were purged or otherwise removed from all ICARC lists [email, rosters, et. al.] as of 31 March 2016
